-
Unplug the power to your Phone
Adaptor, your router, and all of your other equipment (computer,
modem, etc.)
-
If all your router's network ports are already
connected to PCs, disconnect the Ethernet cable from one of the
router's network ports and then connect it into the PC port on
the Phone Adaptor. (The PC will be connected to the router through
the Phone Adaptor.)
-
Connect one end of the Ethernet cable we provide
into an available network port on your router. Connect the other
end of this Ethernet cable into the WAN port on the Phone Adaptor.
-
Connect a telephone to the LINE 1 port of the
Phone Adaptor using a standard phone line.
-
Plug the power cord back into your Cable/DSL
modem and wait about two minutes for it to start up before continuing.
-
Plug the power cord into the POWER port on
the Phone Adaptor and into an electrical outlet. This turns your
Phone Adaptor on. You do not need to unplug it when not in use.
-
Check that the POWER light on the Phone Adaptor
is solid green. Wait at least five minutes for the Phone Adaptor
to start up.
-
Power up the computer. Your Internet connection
should work as it did before you installed the Phone Adaptor.
If you have a DSL modem, you will need to enable PPPoE in your
router. Please refer to the set-up instructions which came with
your router for instructions.
-
Pick up your telephone receiver and listen
for a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone, you have finished
the installation and can begin making calls. You will need to
use 11-digit dialing (i.e. 1-Area Code-555-1234). If you do
not get a dial tone, please refer to the Advanced Installation
and Troubleshooting section of the Installation Guide.
