-
Unplug the power cord for your
Cable/DSL modem. Make sure that you have turned your computer off,
and that you DO NOT plug in the Phone Adaptor until instructed to
do so.
-
Disconnect the Ethernet cable
from the back of your PC and then connect it into the WAN port on
the Phone Adaptor.
-
Connect one end of the Ethernet
cable we provide into the PC port on the Phone Adaptor. Connect the
other end of this Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the computer.
-
Connect a telephone to the LINE
1 port of the Phone Adaptor using a standard phone line.
-
Power on the DSL modem. Wait about
two minutes for it to start up.
-
Plug the power cord into the POWER
port on the Phone Adaptor and into an electrical outlet. This turns
your Phone Adaptor on. You do not need to unplug it when not in use.
-
Check that the POWER light on
the Phone Adaptor is lit. Wait at least five minutes for the Phone
Adaptor to start up. There may be updates that need to be downloaded
such as new firmware or changes to your features. Do not interrupt
the registration process by unplugging the power or lifting the receiver
on your phone during the startup process. Interruption of the startup
may result in interruption of service.
-
Power up the computer. Your Internet
connection should work as it did before you installed the Phone Adaptor.
-
If you have DSL, your DSL provider
may require you to enter a username and password for PPPoE setup.
Click here to learn how to enable PPPoE on the Phone Adaptor. Not
all DSL providers require PPPoE setup. For more information, please
contact your DSL provider.

Pick up your telephone receiver
and listen for a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone, you have finished
the installation and can begin making calls. You will need to use
11-digit dialing (i.e. 1-Area Code-555-1234). If you do not get a
dial tone, please refer to the Advanced Installation and Troubleshooting
section of the Installation Guide.
